James Morrison, jazz from A to Z

Such a pleasure to be invented again to play in Czech National Symphony Orchestra. I had so much fun taking part on an other excellent Prague Proms event with James Morrison, jazz trumpet player.

James Morrison is a world famous multi-instrumental Australian jazz musician.

He plays on several instrument: soprano, alto, tenor, and baritone saxophones, clarinet, flugelhorn, bass trumpet, trombone, euphonium, tuba, double bass, guitar and piano on high level. He is also a composer, writing jazz charts for ensembles of various sizes and proficiency levels.

Recently he formed a band with his two very talented son: William and Harry Morrison, and with a great young drummer: Patric Danao and the beautiful british jazz singer: Hetty Kate.

"ABC Jazz" concert was taking us on a journey from Dixieland to Bop, from the Birth of the Blues to Birdland – and from Antonio Carlos Jobim to JoeZawinul.

The concert featured some of the greatest jazz standards by, among others, Hoagy Carmichael, Fats Waller, Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock and Duke Ellington, as well as lesser-known gems from Spencer Williams, Ray Noble and Dizzy Gillespie.
